Project: Outdoor Artist & Photographer Social Series for Outside Magazine

Role: Curator, Writer, Social Media Producer
Platforms: Instagram, TikTok, Facebook
Content Types: Artist Spotlights, UGC Features, Quote Graphics, Reels, Carousels

Overview: I launched and managed an ongoing social feature series for Outside Magazine that highlights emerging outdoor-inspired artists and photographers from around the world. This project was designed to build community, surface creative voices from within our audience, and expand Outside's role as a platform for storytelling beyond traditional journalism.

Each feature includes a curated interview with the artist, a written spotlight showcasing their work and process, and a full social rollout to Outside’s followers. I selected and interviewed the creatives, wrote the accompanying copy, and adapted the content for multiple platforms. These posts encouraged engagement, audience discovery, and cross-promotion with the creators, often resulting in a boost in their own followings.

Key Contributions:

  • Identified and built relationships with up-and-coming outdoor artists and photographers

  • Developed interview questions and wrote mini-features for each creator

  • Designed visual layouts and video content for Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok

  • Created caption copy that encouraged audience connection and click-throughs to artist pages

  • Sourced all work ethically and ensured credit and permissions were clear and respected

  • Helped foster a sense of community by highlighting diverse creative perspectives connected to nature

Impact:

  • Strengthened Outside's brand voice as a curator of culture and creativity within the outdoor space

  • Drove consistent UGC engagement and increased saves, shares, and follower interaction

  • Built lasting relationships with creators who continue to engage with and share Outside's content

  • Contributed to audience growth by tapping into adjacent creative communities
